This is undoubtedly a very technical discipline that requires at least rock-climbing experience.
Ice waterfalls
Technical difficulty
You have no experience of climbing ice waterfalls, but you have experience of rock and/or mountain climbing. You know the basic progression and safety techniques for rock and mountain climbing;
You are able to climb ice waterfalls, as second, up to Grade II/3, i.e. a few pitches on waterfalls with short approach, ice up to 70°-80° with possibility of rests, double rope descent;
You are able to climb ice waterfalls, as second, up to Grade III/4, i.e. several pitches on waterfalls with approach, ice up to 75°-85° with possibility of brief vertical sections, double rope descent;
You are able to climb ice waterfalls, as second, up to Grade IV/5, i.e. several pitches on waterfalls with vertical approaches, ice up to 90° with possibility of vertical sections, double rope descent;
You are able to climb ice waterfalls, as second, up to Grade IV/6, i.e. many pitches on waterfalls with long approaches, ice up to 90° with possibility of continuous vertical sections and overhangs, double rope descent.
