Biography

I’ve been mountaineering since I was a child and I have scaled many peaks in the Alps, with a preference for winter, especially for ski touring, steep skiing and hut-to-hut skiing.

In 2001, at the age of 37, after many years of corporate work, I took the National Mountain Guide Course, becoming a professional in 2003.

In 2010, my friends and colleagues Guido and Gianni and I created and founded inMont, with the desire to share our love of mountaineering. And it was precisely this idea of sharing that led to me writing guides on climbing, ski touring and hiking, in which I describe my beautiful homeland, the Friuli region.

Thus, I have skied and climbed for love and work, travelling all over the Alps for months with friends and clients from Italy, Britain and America. My journey has taken me from the sheer walls of the Verdon to the yellow walls of the Dolomites, from the grey limestone of the Carnic Alps to the red granite of Mont Blanc, from ski slopes down to the sea in Norway up to the peaks at 6000 m of the Cordillera Blanca in Peru, along mixed terrain crests and icy goulottes, rocky walls and white slopes.

Today, at over 50, after dozens of trips around the world, after 10 years of traditional Mountain Guide work, after teaching many people the basics and secrets of mountaineering, my passion is as strong as ever. In fact, I am drawn back to my roots and I feel a new-found urge to trace perfect lines in the deep snow of far-off and unspoilt places, such as Alaska, Greenland, the Antarctic and who knows where else!
